Hot Sheet: Andor season finale dominates digital demand

Netflix's 1899 and HBO's The White Lotus also made waves on the top five digital originals and overall TV demand charts for the week of Nov. 21 to 27.

Disney+’s Andor season finale has hit its peak Canadian demand, launching it to the top of the digital originals chart.

The prequel series (pictured) to the Star Wars spinoff film Rogue One, which had its season finale on Nov. 23, was 29.14 times more in demand in Canada for the week of Nov. 21 to 27, according to Parrot Analytics. That number is higher than the previous week’s 26.1 and its series premiere demand average of 20.1. Andor landed at No. 1 on the digital originals chart and at No. 2 on the overall TV demand chart for the week.

Netflix’s Stranger Things came in at No. 2 on the digital originals chart and at No. 4 on the overall TV demand chart for the week. The sci-fi series saw a demand average of 25.95 for the week, a slight drop from the previous week’s 26.22.

Netflix’s 1899 made its debut on the digital originals chart a week after its series premiere on Nov. 17. The period mystery and sci-fi series ranked at No. 3 on the digital chart with a demand average of 19.83.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Warrior Nun was No. 4 on the digitals chart with 19.57, down from the previous week’s 22.08, and Hulu original The Handmaid’s Tale came in at No. 5 on the chart with 18.75 – a lower figure than the previous week’s 24.

At the top of the overall TV demand chart is AMC’s The Walking Dead with a demand average of 34.17, an increase from the previous week’s 28.98. This is the first time the series topped the overall TV chart for its season 11, which premiered on Aug. 22.

HBO’s Game of Thrones remained at its No. 3 spot on the overall TV demand chart for the week with 27.37, a decrease from the previous week’s 28.01, while HBO’s The White Lotus cracked the top five of the overall TV demand chart for the week. The anthology series, which had its season two premiere on Oct. 30, was No. 5 on the chart with a demand average of 23.25.
