Canadian series The Amazing Race Canada, Departure, and Race Against the Tide made waves with viewers in the final week of July.
CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada (pictured) continues to top conventional and specialty network programming with 1.405 million viewers for the week of July 25 to 31, according to Numeris. Produced by Boat Rocker’s Insight Productions, the competition series saw a dip in numbers compared to its season eight viewership high of 1.768 million the previous week, as well as its season premiere, which attracted 1.695 million viewers.
Global’s Departure, coproduced by Toronto’s Shaftesbury and Ireland’s Deadpan Pictures, landed at No. 16, and attracted 590,000 viewers. However, its ratings decreased slightly from 670,000 viewers the previous week.
Meanwhile, marblemedia–produced CBC competition series Race Against the Tide made the list for the first time since its season two premiere, ranking at No. 28 with 475,000 viewers.
The national ratings for the week also saw the CTV evening news land at No. 2 with 1.210 million viewers, followed by Blue Jays’ regular season with 1.028 million viewers. CBS’ Big Brother and CTV evening weekend news both ranked at No. 4 with 959,000 viewers each.
American procedural drama series 9-1-1 led the Quebec francophone chart with 699,000 viewers, while TVA’s French-language version of ABC’s The Rookie, La recrue, came in at No. 2 with 631,000 viewers, and La Roue de Fortune chez vous at No. 3 with 609,000 viewers.
