Eveneshen will work with founder and veteran indie film producer Avi Federgreen to ramp up the prodco’s development slate, with a focus on sci-fi, thriller and horror genres.

The filmmaker co-wrote and co-directed the horror film For the Sake of Vicious with Gabriel Carrer, which was produced by Federgreen Entertainment. The film was acquired by AMC-owned genre streamer Shudder in the U.S., with Raven Banner Entertainment holding worldwide sales rights. Entertainment Squad and The Horror Collective hold U.S. distribution rights.

Federgreen Entertainment aims to “find great new voices who tell amazing stories that can sell internationally” as part of the development push, according to a statement from Federgreen.

Eveneshen has collaborated on several scripts with Federgreen and producing partner Laura Tremblay of Lucky Dimes Films in the lead-up to his appointment. “Reese’s extreme talent as a writer shows in each draft he delivers and the notes that he brings to other writers’ projects is so in depth and creative that he helps each project shine,” said Federgreen.

Federgreen has already made moves in the genre space, launching horror and thriller-focused Red Water Entertainment as a division of his distribution company Indiecan Entertainment. The producer has also launched initiatives such as Indiecan10K and Indiecan20K to help emerging filmmakers create their freshman and sophomore features, with eight first features created to date, according to Federgreen.
