Deals: Sinking Ship, Attraction Distribution, Super Channel

Sinking Ship Entertainment inks new sales for Odd Squad and Annedroids, Attraction Distribution to distribute Dear Flora internationally, plus more.

Toronto-based Sinking Ship Entertainment has announced new sales for two Emmy-winning kids shows. Odd Squad and Annedroids (pictured) have scored international pickups with broadcasters POP (U.K.) and Canal Once (Mexico). The Canal Once deal is for Annedroids seasons three and four airings, while Odd Squad has also been picked up for Germany’s Kixi.

Odd Squad was created by Tim McKeon and Adam Peltzman, and is coproduced by Sinking Ship Entertainment and Fred Rogers Productions for PBS Kids, in association with TVOkids. Annedroids is a Prime Video original created by J.J. Johnson and produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment in association with broadcasters TVOkids, SRC and KiKa.

The news comes on the heels of the recent acquisition of Odd Squad by HBO Max for non-exclusive SVOD rights to the first two seasons for Latin America. The series is set to premiere on the platform sometime in 2022.

Attraction Distribution

Montréal-based Attraction Distribution has signed an agreement with Nish Media to distribute Dear Flora internationally. Inspired by true events, the 6 x 44-minute Indigenous drama series focuses on an Algonquin brother and sister who were taken from their parents and sent to a residential school in the 1960s.

The original series was written and directed by Sonia Bonspille Boileau, and produced by Nish Media for ICI Radio-Canada and APTN.

Super Channel

Edmonton-based network Super Channel has picked up a second season of HBO Max original docu-reality series House of Ho. The 10-episode season, chronicling the wealthy Ho family, will begin on Super Channel Fuse on Aug. 28, with the first three episodes available on demand the same day.

Katy Wallin, Stephanie Bloch Chambers, and showrunner Nick Lee executive produce House of Ho. The non-fiction series is produced by Wallin Chambers Entertainment in association with Lionsgate Television.
