Home Town Takeover prodco RTR Media promotes four

The promotions follow a significant boost in the Toronto-based company's production activity over the last six months.

Toronto-headquartered prodco RTR Media is upping four of its executives as it ramps up production activity with a slate that has tripled in the last six months.

Samantha Jackson has been promoted from VP to SVP of production; Liz Kerrigan, from VP to SVP of current programming; Lara Shaw, from senior director of content to VP of content; and Ryan Grantham Smith, from director to VP of post production.

Jackson (pictured left) joined the company behind HGTV’s Home Town franchise in 2021, after serving as VP of production at Back Roads Entertainment where she oversaw business operations, production, development, and talent acquisition with series credits such as BET’s 50 Central with 50 Cent, and Cooking Channel’s Big Bad BBQ Brawl.

Kerrigan (pictured second from left) also joined RTR Media last year, coming from a stint as VP of current at All3Media’s Maverick TV overseeing such series as USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley. Prior to that, she was VP of current programming for Magnetic Productions.

Shaw (pictured second from right), meanwhile, joined the company in 2017 as director of content. Credits include work on the Home Town franchise, which includes Home Town Takeover, Home Town Kick Start and Ben’s Workshop (airing on Discovery+). Additional RTR credits for HGTV include Help I Wrecked My House!, Renovation 911, Farmhouse Fabulous (w/t), Revealed, and No Demo Reno.

Ryan Grantham-Smith (pictured right) has been working in post production at RTR Media since 2009. Having worked on Home Town since the pilot, he also manages the post production process for all RTR series and pilots from pre-production through to final delivery.

“RTR has experienced significant growth in the last six months, tripling our slate,” said RTR chief creative officer Jenna Keane, who helms the company with CEO Toni Miceli and founding partner and executive chair Kit Redmond. “These appointments recognize and celebrate the continued leadership we see from Samantha, Liz, Lara and Ryan to deliver the quality and thoughtfulness RTR is known for. There’s no one we’d rather grow with than these powerhouse talents.”
