tony tackaberryUnscripted production veteran Tony Tackaberry is launching a new shingle, Station 6 Productions, and has struck a first-look deal with Blue Ant Studios to develop and produce unscripted series, premium docs and a range of formats.

Under the terms of the deal, Tackaberry (pictured) will work with Blue Ant Media CCO and co-president of global production Laura Michalchyshyn and co-president Sam Sniderman as they continue to bolster Blue Ant Studios’ U.S.-based production business.

Tackaberry was previously the CEO of Lion TV’s U.S. office, where he executive produced such series as Cash Cab and The Murder List. He exited Lion TV USA at the beginning of last year.

According to Blue Ant Studios, the new prodco is already in talks with several platforms about a range of projects, including one that involves a two-time Academy Award winner and another format featuring “a leading young influencer.”

Tackaberry said in a statement that he wants “to build a slate of programming that puts innovation and creativity at the forefront.”

Tackaberry said the name for the new prodco was inspired by his grandparents, who were also prominent figures in the entertainment business. His grandfather, Seth Holt, directed the films Station Six-Sahara, Nowhere to Go and Taste of Fear, the latter of which served as inspiration for Martin Scorsese.
