Neshama Entertainment has hired Lauren MacKinlay as creative producer and Ian Malone as director of development.
MacKinlay (pictured left) will be based at Neshama’s Toronto headquarters and supervise development and creative production of a selection of the company’s film slate as well as Canadian co-production partnerships.
Malone (pictured right) will also be based in Toronto and work with Neshama’s development team across the company’s slate of projects originating in Canada.
MacKinlay is a producer with over a decade of experience in film and television at companies including Sphere Media, where she most recently as the supervising producer for two seasons of the hit medical drama Transplant (CTV/NBC). She’s also a co-founder of the non-profit Women On Screen with previous credits include associate producer for Bad Blood (Netflix), This Life (CBC) and 19-2 (CTV).
Malone has over a decade of experience as an executive producer and executive story editor in Canada, working with Netflix, the BBC, The CW Network, Space, Family Channel, Nickelodeon, TVO, Global, CTV and the CBC. His credits include Degrassi: The Next Generation (CTV), The Next Step (Family Channel) and Todd & The Book of Pure Evil (Space, CTV).
Neshama Entertainment was formed in August 2018 in partnership with Los Angeles-based MarVista Entertainment.
Neshama co-founder and executive producer Arnie Zipursky said in a news release that the company projects “continued growth” and has “an ambitious film and series slate for 2022.”
