McGillivray Group signs Trish Stratus in talent development expansion

The company will secure brand and marketing deals and partnerships for its client roster, which also includes interior designer Debra Salmoni of Scott's Vacation House Rules.

The McGillivray Group has expanded to talent development and marketing, signing former wrestler and Canada’s Got Talent judge Trish Stratus (pictured) among its initial roster of clients.

As part of this expansion, the parentco of McGillivray Entertainment Media (MEM) will represent the clients to help gain marketing and brand deals and partnerships. The company will work in tandem with existing client representatives.

McGillivray Group has also signed interior designer Debra Salmoni, who co-hosts Scott’s Vacation House Rules with Scott McGillivray. Stratus and Salmoni will be repped by Taylor McIlwaine, director, talent development and marketing.

The company has previously secured partnerships with brands and companies such as Corus Entertainment, CIBC, Hello Fresh, McDonald’s, Ikea and Home Hardware.

McGillivray Group has also expanded its digital and linear media production services to offer “customized programs, podcasts, digital content and tv commercials,” via subsidiary MEM. The prodco went into production on Canada’s Got Talent in November, which airs on Citytv this spring, and will roll on the newly greenlit HGTV Canada series Renovation Resort this summer.

“Building relationships with brands and producing innovative content has always been a core part of our business,” said president Andrew McGillivray. “While our original focus was building the Scott McGillivray brand and creating supporting content, it became clear that there was an opportunity to apply the same principles to other talent brands. Through our many years of creating successful partnerships, one of our key differentiators is our focus on providing turnkey, end-to-end solutions for both talent and corporate brands that create strong, long-term, and impactful relationships, instead of taking a transactional approach.”
