Canadian LGBTQ+ network OUTtv has renewed its drag competition series Call Me Mother for a second season.
Produced by Go Button Media, in association with RedFlame TV, the series sees 10 up-and-coming drag queens compete within three drag houses for the title of First Child of Drag.
Executive producers on the series are drag queen Miss Peppermint, who also appears as a mentor and featured drag mother on the series, Go Button’s Natasha Ryan, Daniel Oron, RedFlame’s Glenn Sims and OUTtv’s Brad Danks, Philip Webb, Anthony Jiwa and Lauren Whitelaw.
Call Me Mother is hosted by Entertainment Tonight Canada‘s Dallas Dixon. The series is the most-watched program on OUTtv’s linear and digital platforms since its October premiere, according to a release from the network, as well as its most-watched original.
The series first premiered on OUTtv’s Canadian and U.S. platforms on Oct. 25, as well as the U.K. and Ireland through Free TV.
“Call Me Mother showcased diverse drag artistry that has had less mainstream representation until now, the response from audiences has been overwhelming,” said Webb in a statement. “We are looking forward to bringing audiences another season of Call Me Mother in 2022.”
