Good Witch to end with seventh season

The Hallmark Channel series, produced by Toronto's Whizbang Films, will air its final episode on July 25.

Hallmark Channel’s long-running series Good Witch will cast its final spell on audiences later this month.

The U.S. network announced Friday (July 9) that the Whizbang Films-produced series will end with its seventh season. The series finale is scheduled for July 25.

The Toronto- and Hamilton-shot series, which airs on Corus Entertainment’s W Network in Canada, first premiered in 2015. Based on the 2008 Hallmark original film series of the same name, Good Witch follows the enigmatic Cassie Nightingale, played by Catherine Bell, and her life in the small town of Middleton. Bell, a co-executive producer on the series, has held the role for the last 13 years.

Good Witch also stars James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Sarah Power (Killjoys), Catherine Disher (Abby Hatcher), Kylee Evans (The Strain), Katherine Barrell (Wynonna Earp) Marc Bendavid (How to Buy a Baby) and Scott Cavalheiro (Carter).

The series broke a ratings record for W Network when it first aired, becoming the highest-rated TV series for women aged 25 to 54 on the channel in a decade.

Good Witch is produced by Toronto’s Whizbang Films in association with ITV Studios America. ITV handles international distribution of the series.

Executive producers include Darin Goldberg, Orly Adelson, Jonathan Eskenas, Craig Pryce and Frank Siracusa. Colin Brunton is a producer, Julie Lawrence and Angie Cassiram are associate producers, and Janina Barrett is supervising producer.
