OUTtv launches SVOD channel in the U.S.

Now available through Apple TV, the channel is a joint venture between OUTtv Media Group and U.S. prodco and talent company Producer Entertainment Group.

Vancouver’s OUTtv Media Group has launched a new subscription-based VOD service in the U.S. on Apple TV in partnership with L.A.’s Producer Entertainment Group (PEG).

Titled OUTtv USA, the channel features more than 75 series and over 2,000 hours of content available as of launch for $2.99 per month through the Apple TV app. The SVOD service is expected to launch on additional platforms later this year and is the first LGBTQ+ Apple TV channel, according to OUTtv Media Group.

The channel will be overseen by PEG’s office in Burbank, CA, with partner Jacob Slane serving as senior domestic executive. PEG is a prodco, talent management company and record label that represents a number of international drag stars.

“We are delighted to deepen and evolve our relationship with PEG further by bringing OUTtv to America”, said OUTtv Media Group CEO Brad Danks in a statement. “The real potential and impact will come from the groundbreaking LGBTQ+ content that we will develop, produce and distribute together.”

One of PEG’s clients, RuPaul’s Drag Race season eight winner Bob the Drag Queen, has inked a first-look development deal with OUTtv, starting with a second season of his scripted digital series Besties.

Original titles in the programming slate include the previous greenlit Cam Boy from Halifax-based prodco Emotion Pictures, docuseries Boy Boy Montreal, unscripted dating series From Katya with Love, sketch comedy series The Sherry Vine Show, talk show Translation, a series of specials with the drag group Nubia, and a comedy special from drag performer Alaska Thunderf**k.

OUTtv recently greenlit and renewed a number of titles for its Canadian linear channel and streaming platform, including Shaftesbury and Boss + Co.’s Slo Pitch and Border2Border Entertainment’s Dating Unlocked.
