Katie Boland is underway on her feature directorial debut, We’re All in This Together.
Rolling in Hamilton, ON, the feature is an adaptation of author Amy Jones novel of the same name, following the Parker family after a woman goes over a waterfall and a video goes viral. Production is expected to wrap at the end of August.
Penned by the writer/actor/director, producers include executive producers Prodigy Pictures’ Jay Firestone, Straight Shooters’ Gail Harvey and Urban Post’s John Laing alongside Boland, Paula Brancati and Jim Sternberg. Mark Pancer serves an associate producer. Notably, the project previously received financial support from Telefilm Canada and The Harold Greenberg Fund.
Boland – a previous Playback 10 to Watch and TIFF Rising Star who has over 80 acting credits on film and TV projects such as Cardinals and Reign – is set to star as twins Finn and Nicki Parker in the feature with Martha Burns (Alias Grace) and Alisha Newton (Heartland). Her past directing work includes the shorts Lolz-Ita (2017) and Twins (2020). More details about We’re All in This Together‘s cast are expected to be announced soon.
“Adapting this incredible book for the big screen and sitting in the director’s chair have been such a gratifying experience,” said Boland in a statement. “Playing twin characters Finn and Nicki Parker is an actor’s dream, but also being able to bring together this incredible cast and crew makes this entire project a highlight of my career.”
