levelFILM has acquired the Canadian distribution rights to Connie Cocchia’s directorial debut When Time Got Louder, produced by Cocchia Productions and Gold Star Productions.
Written, directed and produced by Cocchia, the coming of age drama – which is currently in post-production – follows Abbie, a college freshman torn between her new life and the guilt of leaving her brother who has autism. Cocchia’s previous credits include the short Awake. In addition to Cocchia, Ken Frith and Jason Bourque serve as producers on the project.
The feature stars Willow Shields (Hunger Games), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale), Piper Curda (The Wretched), Ava Capri (Blast Beat) and newcomer Jonathan Michael Simao.
Sinking Ship Entertainment
Toronto’s Sinking Ship Entertainment has signed new international sales for Odd Squad, Dino Dana and Endlings (pictured).
The company has sold Endlings to SIC in Portugal and YLE in Finland, while Dino Dana‘s third season is headed to ABC in Australia and Hop! In Israel. As well, Netflix has renewed its deal for Odd Squad‘s first season in worldwide territories outside of the U.S.
Sinking Ship also announced that it’s distribution partner in Asia, Bomanbridge Media, has signed a deal with I-Cable in Hong Kong for seasons one to four of Annedroids and Dino Dana.
Additionally, Hong Kong’s PCCW has acquired season one and two of Odd Squad, What’s Inside? and Are We There Yet?. Finally, Vietnam’s VTV7 and SCTV have extended their deal for Odd Squad, picking up season two of the show.

Marblemedia’s distribution arm, Distribution360 (D360), has acquired the rights to AnimalFanpedia (26 x 11 minutes) – a new series from Mobius.LAB Kids.
Narrated by Maxwell Glick (The Lizzie Bennet Diaries), the show offers kids and families a journey into the animal kingdom and the opportunity to learn about conservation and the natural world. The international distribution rights to the series cover North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
The company has also signed a number of new agreements, including selling marblemedia’s craft show Super Might Makers (13 x 30 minutes), Skyship Entertainment’s Super Simple Draw (26 x 7 minutes) and GAPC Entertainment’s ScienceXplosion (45 x 3.5 minutes) to worldwide kids app Azoomee. The app has also renewed MathXplosion (50 x 3 minutes) from GAPC Entertainment.
D360 has also licensed ScienceXplosion to specialist kids channel Da Vinci, covering Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Blynk & Aazoo (24 x 7 minutes), another kids science series, has been sold to PCCW in Hong Kong.
Three Arrows Media’s Treasure Champs (30 x 15 minutes) is also headed to streamers Minno and Castle, while preschool series Nico Can Dance (65 x 2 minutes) from Atomic Cartoons has been licensed to Curious World’s international VOD platform.
D360 has also negotiated deals for marblemedia’s Holy Baloney (10 x 3 minutes) and Splatalot (52 x 30 minutes). In France, AB Thematiques has picked up Holy Baloney, while Splatalot has been licensed to CBC Gem and Game TV. Finally, more than 150 hours of long-running family drama Heartland from SEVEN24 Films and Dynamo Films have been acquired by Corus (season 12, 11 x 60 minutes) and Radio-Canada (seasons one through eight, 140 x 60 minutes) for French-speaking Canada.
Raven Banner
Toronto’s Raven Banner will launch sales on For the Sake of Vicious from co-directors Reese Eveneshen and Gabriel Carrer and TOXICO from Ariel Martínez Herrera at the upcoming Cannes virtual market.
Co-written and directed by Eveneshen and Carrer, For the Sake of Vicious follows the tale of a nurse who returns home after a long shift to find a maniac sheltering in her house with a barely living hostage. Produced by Avi Federgreen, the feature counts Marvin Waxman as an executive producer alongside Raven Banner’s Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew Hunt. Meanwhile, Martínez Herrera’s TOXICO takes place during a global insomnia pandemic, following Laura and Augusto as they try to flee the city in their mobile home.
Raven Banner is also representing Skull: The Mask Of Anhanga, The Dead Ones, To Kill A Dragon, Penance Lane, Nail In The Coffin: The Fall and Rise of Vampiro and Yummy.
