U.S. streamer BET+ picks up Diggstown from eOne

The first season of the Floyd Kane-created legal drama lands on BET+ as an original series, making it the first time Diggstown will be available in the U.S. market.

Entertainment One has inked a deal with U.S. network BET to add legal drama Diggstown to its streaming service.

The 6 x 60-minute first season hits BET+ today (April 23) as a original series for the platform. This marks the first time the series will be available in the U.S. market.

Diggstown is created by Floyd Kane, who serves as showrunner and executive producer. It is produced by Circle Blue Entertainment and Kane’s banner Freddie Films in association with CBC. It stars Vinessa Antoine as a corporate lawyer who relocates to Dartmouth, N.S., after her aunt commits suicide in the aftermath of her legal trouble. The cast includes Natasha Henstridge (Species), C. David Johnson (Street Legal), Stacey Farber (Grace and Frankie), Brandon Oakes (Arctic Air), Shailene Garnett (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp) and Dwain Murphy (Titans). Amos Adetuyi, Brenda Greenberg and Todd Berger serve as executive producers.

The first season originally aired on CBC on March 6, 2019, and the season two finale aired on April 1 of this year. Entertainment One holds the international sales rights.
