The Surrealtor, from the prodco behind Vagrant Queen (pictured), has received a straight-to-series order from NBCUniversal channel Syfy and is expected to premiere in 2021.

U.S. genre-focused channel Syfy has given a straight-to-series order for The Surrealtor, produced by Toronto’s Blue Ice Pictures.

The 10 x 60-minute series follows a realtor who specializes in giving the spooks that haunt houses closure in order to move on and make the houses viable for would-be buyers. It is expected to premiere on the NBCUniversal-owned U.S. channel in 2021. The series currently does not have a Canadian distributor, according to executive producer Lance Samuels.

Executive producers for The Surrealtor are Blue Ice’s Samuels and Daniel Iron, along with showrunner George Olson.

Blue Ice Pictures is also the producer on the upcoming Syfy series Vagrant Queen, which will premiere on Rogers Media-owned channel City on Sunday, March 29. In addition, Blue Ice has acted as the service producer for Netflix dramas such as the recently-canceled Spinning Out and the upcoming Ginny & Georgia, as well as for the streamer’s popular film The Kissing Booth.
