CuriosityStream launches Go Button’s World Without NASA

The two-part documentary special is set for broadcast on CBC's documentary Channel next month.

American factual SVOD CuriosityStream will explore the daily impact of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with A World Without NASA, a two-part special from Toronto’s Go Button Media.

The episodes – titled “The Pulse of Tech” and “The Fires of Science” – explore the idea of a world in which NASA, the independent aeronautics and aerospace agency, never existed and its myriad technological innovations disappeared.

The specials will then follow the space race back to the present day to learn what challenges and questions drove the development of NASA’s life-changing technologies, which have impacted the development of such modern conveniences as online dating and the smart watch, to GPS and fire safety.

Featured throughout A World Without NASA will be a cast of astronauts, engineers and aeronautical experts who set out to discover the ways in which space technologies have completely altered modern day life.

The specials launched Jan. 9 on CuriosityStream, with episode one set to broadcast across CBC’s documentary Channel on Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. and episode two airing Feb. 26 at 10 p.m.

A World Without NASA is executive produced by CuriosityStream’s Rob Burk and Go Button’s Oron and Natasha Ryan. It was commissioned by CuriosityStream’s Steve Burns. DCD Rights distributes the series internationally.

Go Button Media’s other credits include Mom Vs. Matchmaker, Sense Appeal and Secret Nazi Bases.
