Production is underway in Toronto on the third and final season of Cameron Pictures and eOne’s hour-long drama Mary Kills People.
Created by Tara Armstrong and produced in association with Corus Entertainment, the junior season of the series will follow Dr. Mary Harris (played by Caroline Dhavernas) and her partner Dr. Desmond Bennett (Richard Short) as they face complications while running their newly established hospice centre, which acts as “death retreat” for patients.
Similar to season one and two, Mary Kills People will return for six episodes. Season three, which is led by co-showrunners Tassie Cameron and Marsha Greene, is expected to air in spring 2019 on Corus’ Global.
New talent for Mary‘s final chapter include Canadian actors Elizabeth Saunders (Alias Grace) and Rachael Ancheril (Wynonna Earp); writers Chris Roberts (Frontier), Jane Maggs (Bellevue), Karen Moore (Workin’ Moms) and Matt Huether (Degrassi: Next Class); and directors James Genn (Private Eyes) and Paul Fox (Schitt’s Creek).
Exec producers include Dhavernas, Greene, Tassie and Amy Cameron for Cameron Pictures and Jocelyn Hamilton and Tecca Crosby for eOne. Norma Bailey, who served as a director on season two, also returns to direct this season.
Mary Kills People‘s financing partners include Canada Media Fund, the Ontario Film and Television Tax credit and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.
