The DOC Institute held its annual awards ceremony on Dec. 5 at the Gladstone Hotel in downtown Toronto, hosted by CBC Radio One personality Candy Palmater. The awards were established in 2014 to honour emerging documentary filmmakers and industry mentors. Kelly Jenkins from BMO Bank of Montreal was on hand to present veteran cinematographer Zoe Dirse with the Luminary award, while Robin Mirsky from Rogers Group of Funds presented the Vanguard award to filmmaker Amar Wala .
