A71 Entertainment has acquired all Canadian rights to director Ann Shin’s feature-length documentary My Enemy, My Brother.
The Toronto-based indie distributor announced the pickup ahead of the film’s April 29 world premiere at Hot Docs in the Canadian Spectrum program.
Directed and produced by Shin, the project documents the story of two war veterans who meet 25 years after the 1980s’ Iran-Iraq War. Shin initially made the project as a short film (also titled My Enemy, My Brother), which was shortlisted alongside 10 other films for the U.S. Academy’s Documentary Short Subject category in 2015.
Executive producers on the project are by Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee, Melanie Horkan, and Hannah Donegan, with cinematography from Duraid Munajim.
