Ten months after taking up the role of VP of content, Brennan is moving on to helm NBCUniversal-owned preschool net Sprout as general manager.

Brennan’s arrival at Corus was announced in March 2016 after the broadcasting exec left her role as head of children’s TV at Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

At Corus, Brennan oversaw the development, management and execution of the Corus Kids slate of programming, including YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon, TELETOON, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD.

There are currently no plans to replace Brennan’s role, said a spokesperson for Corus in an email to Playback Daily. Going forward, Brennan’s team, which consists of Michael Strachan, Brandon Lane, Todd Brian and Hughes Dufour, will report to Daniel Eves, SVP, kids and general entertainment content.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have had Deirdre’s strategic leadership and deep expertise over this past year, as we’ve strengthened both our domestic and international business. NBC is a key partner of Corus’ and we’re delighted to be able to continue to work with Deirdre in her new role,” said Barb Williams, COO, Corus, in a statement.

As GM of the New York-based net, Brennan will oversee all aspects of Sprout’s linear and digital programming, marketing, business strategy and performance. She will manage the greenlight process and work closely with producers and global broadcasters, as well as with the international creative community to bolster the network’s relationships with top talent, writers and showrunners.

She will report directly to Frances Berwick, president of Lifestyle Networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
