108 Media acquires BGOI’s Pinup Dolls on Ice

The Toronto-based distributor will be releasing the BGOI Films slasher feature on VOD and DVD.

Toronto-based 108 Media has picked up the global distribution rights to BGOI Films’ slasher feature Pinup Dolls On Ice.

The deal was negotiated by BGOI Films’ Geoff Klein and Melissa Mira and 108 Media’s Jordan Nutson and Nick Burton.

The feature, which is produced and directed by Klein and Mira, follows the Pinup Dolls, a group of strippers who find themselves being stalked by a murderous lunatic after they perform on an isolated campground.

Pinup Dolls On Ice is scheduled to be released on VOD around Halloween, 2015, and later on DVD. The film will not be released theatrically by 108 Media.

BGOI Films is a Montreal-based production company that specializes in independent horror films. Media 108 was launched in 2012 by former Cinesavvy managing director Abhishek Rastogi.

The acquisition isn’t typical for 108 Media’s “genre androgynous” slate, said Nick Burton, acquisitions coordinator, 108 Media. “We like to dip our toes into lots of different types of content, because we want the ability to reach many different audiences.”

Among the films in 108’s slate are Henry Rollins-starrer He Never Died and Vic Sarin’s doc The Boy From Geita.
