Corus renews Say Yes to the Dress Canada

W Network has greenlit a second season of TV series Say Yes to the Dress Canada, scheduled to premiere in winter 2015.

The show, based on the U.S. format, is produced by Toronto-based Temple Street Productions in association with W Network, and production on the new season is set to begin in mid-June.

Like the first, the sophomore season will take place in Amanda-Lina’s Sposa Boutique in Toronto, where brides-to-be must find their perfect dress.

The first season of the series premiered in January 2015 and featured brand integrations from companies such as John Frieda, Jergens and Michael Hill Jewellers.

Although he declined to point to specifics, John MacDonald, VP television and head of Corus women and family, Corus Entertainment, said the show is a performer for the channel.

“The show performs very well in ratings and as a driver for sales, where it has been one of our  most popular shows for advertisers seeking sponsorships and integration,” said MacDonald.

Casting for the second season is underway. Say Yes to the Dress Canada currently airs on W Network, Wednesdays at 10 p.m./10:30 p.m ET/PT.
