The cameras are rolling on a fifth season of APTN’s Blackstone.
Indie producer Prairie Dog Film + Television is shooting the latest season in Edmonton through June 2015.
The returning fifth season cast includes Carmen Moore, Eric Schweig, Michelle Thrush, Steven Cree Molison, Glen Gould, Justin Rain and Tantoo Cardinal.
Also returning for the latest cycle for the drama about corruption and power politics on a fictional First Nation reserve is Jennifer Podemski, Cheri Maracle, John Cassini, Frank Cassini, Garry Chalk, Darrell Dennis and Jessica Matten.
The fifth season shoot follows Cineflix Rights picking up the worldwide rights to Blackstone via a distribution deal with PPI Releasing to take the drama further internationally beyond APTN in Canada and Hulu in the U.S. market.
Blackstone is created by executive producer, writer and director Ron E. Scott.
Besides Scott, Damon Vignale is a writer and producer on the series, with Jesse Szymanski as co-executive producer.
Blackstone is produced in association with APTN and has financing from the Canada Media Fund, the Alberta Media Fund, the Rogers Cable Network Fund and Canadian tax credits.
