Nelvana charms more licensees for preschool series

Nelvana Enterprises has inked a trio of new licensees for Nelvana/Spin Master copro Little Charmers, which debuted on Nick US and Treehouse Canada in January.

Nelvana Enterprises, the sales, brand-management and consumer products arm of Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, continues to grow the licensing program for its new co-pro with Spin Master, Little Charmers.

Rubie’s Costume Company (Halloween costumes), Baby Boom Consumer Products (toddler bedding/bath) and Bakery Crafts (cake décor) join a growing group of U.S.-based licensees for the property, which includes global English-language publishing partner Scholastic, as well as master toy partner Spin Master.

The Little Charmers program will start rolling out to U.S. mass-market retailers this fall, beginning with Spin Master’s toy range (mini figurines, plush, dolls, role-play items) aimed at kids aged two to five. Products from the three newest licensees will hit U.S. retail shelves in 2016.

Little Charmers premiered this winter on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and Treehouse in Canada. The 80 x 11-minute series follows the adventures of three “charmers-in-training” as they learn to master their magical powers. Nickelodeon has global broadcast rights and the series is slated to air across Europe towards the end of the year and into 2016.
