Nelvana pacts with Brown Bag, Candy Bear for girl-centric preschool series

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana is on a roll in the preschool space. Just one day after unveiling Camp Yeti, Nelvana is joining forces with Dublin-based Brown Bag Films (Peter Rabbit, Doc McStuffins, Octonauts) and Israel-based Candy Bear (Zack & Quack) to develop Cozy Island, a CGI-animated girl-centric preschool series.

Created by Candy Bear’s Gili Dolev and Yvette Kaplan, and designed by the prodco’s head of art & design Erez Gavish, the 52 x 11-minute series follows the adventures of Naya, who moved to Cozy Island, where her mom takes up a new job as mender-in-chief. As she explores the  island, Naya makes friends with a host of characters like Velly and Fluff Monster.

Nelvana seems to be taking a shine to girl-focused preschool series. Along with Cozy Island and Camp Yeti, it also has Little Charmers in the hopper, a girls CGI-animated series co-developed with Spin Master Entertainment.
