Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions has seen its new Blumhouse International (BHI) distribution arm ink a Canadian output deal with D Films.

BHI, which oversees foreign sales of Blumhouse movie titles, has a worldwide servicing and distribution deal with IM Global.

The Canadian deal covers all movies outside of Blumhouse’s first-look deal with Universal.

Blumhouse is best known micro-budget genre franchises like Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister and The Purge, the first film for Universal.

BHI was first introduced to foreign distributors at the 2014 Cannes Film Market,

The U.S.-based distributor opened talks about a Canadian distribution deal ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
