Resident Evil won’t return to T.O. for latest shoot

The Milla Jovovich vs. zombies franchise is moving residence after shooting recent installments in Toronto.

The Resident Evil franchise, which has shot recent installments in Toronto, is moving its start date and residence.

German financier Constantin Film on Wednesday moved production on the sixth edition of the money-spinning global franchise to 2015 after star Milla Jovovich announced her pregnancy.

The sixth Resident Evil film will now go into production after a 10-month delay in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.

Resident Evil: Retribution, from Toronto-based producer Don Carmody, Constantin Films and Screen Gems, grossed $5.4 million in Canada and $230 million worldwide, including on release in China.

There’s no word yet on whether Carmody will be involved in the sixth installment of the Milla Jovovich vs. zombies feature, which is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
