Jill Morrison, who joined Thunderbird Films’ Package Deal last year as a recurring guest star, has been promoted to a series regular for the second season on City.

Morrison plays Nikki, the sassy friend and co-worker of Kim (Julia Voth).

Her rise to series co-star comes as the multi-cam comedy starts production on a sophomore season on Friday night in Vancouver.

The comedy is taped in front a live studio audience.

Los Angeles-based Andrew Orenstein will return to showrun Package Deal, with Corner Gas‘ Rob Sheridan also writing/producing for Thunderbird Films.

Harland Williams will return to co-star as Sheldon in the sitcom about three overly close brothers and the woman who comes between them, while also participating in the writers room.

Voth, Randal Edwards and Jay Malone also star in Package Deal.

Jill Morrison’s acting credits include Mean Girls, When Calls the Heart and Psych.
