Six months after launching, indie Edyson Entertainment has completed production on its first feature, writer/director Pat Mills’ Guidance.

Alyson Richards’ debut project at Toronto-based Edyson, which has Mills in the lead as a drunk former child actor turned high school guidance counselor, also stars Zahra Bentham, Allison Hossack (The Killing), Kevin Hanchard, Eleanor Zichy and Alex Ozerov (Blackbird).

The coming-of-age comedy was shot in Toronto, with Richards producing and Mike MacMillan coproducing.

Jordan Gross was the production manager, Daniel Grant the cinematographer, and Zosia McKenzie the production designer.

Bryan Atkinson will now oversee editing, with an eye to a 2014 festival release for the Canadian indie with Telefilm Canada financing.
