Ruby Skye P.I. begins season three production

Toronto-based digital media producer Story 2.OH begins production today on the third season of tween mystery web series Ruby Skye P.I.

The 10-episode third season, entitled The Maltese Puppy, follows teen detective Ruby Skye, played by Madison Cheeatow, on her third case, following season one’s The Spam Scam and season two’s The Haunted Library.

Joining the cast for season three are Sean Cullen, Hannah Spear, Araya Megesha, Noah Cappe and Riele Downs.

Returning cast members include Marlee Maslove, Scott Beaudin and Elena Gorgevska.

The interactive web series features online episodes and accompanying digital content including interactive clues and games related to the storyline. The second season featured an online library and games and puzzles microsite created by one of the series characters.

Ruby Skye P.I. is exec produced by series creator Jill Golick and Swing Media’s Janice Dawe. Kelly Harms is on board again to direct for the third consecutive season.

The series is produced by Story2.OH with participation of CBC, the Canada Media Fund, the Independent Production Fund, the Bell Fund and the Shaw Rocket Fund. The series is distributed internationally by Farrago Media.

Story2.OH announced in June that it had inked a deal with the CBC for the pubcaster to stream the series in winter 2014, combining 10 episodes into a TV one-hour for broadcast.
