Indiecan takes Canadian rights to Motivational Growth

Avi Federgreen's indie distribution outfit plans a multi-platform release for the genre title in 2014.

Avi Federgreen’s Indiecan Entertainment has picked up the Canadian distribution rights to Don Thacker’s Motivational Growth after its Canadian bow at Toronto After Dark.

Indiecan plans a multi-platform release in 2014 for the genre title about Ian Foliver, played by Adrian DiGiovanni, a depressed and reclusive 30-something who finds himself taking advice from a growth in his bathroom after a failed suicide attempt.

Jeffrey Combs voices the offending mold in the bathroom.

The deal was negotiated by Federgreen and Justin McConnell on behalf of Indiecan Entertainment, and Circus Road Films CEO Glen Reynolds, on behalf of director Thacker.

Motivational Growth was produced by Imagos Films over twenty-eight days in a warehouse-made-soundstage above a paper binding plant, in the dead of winter.

The film is U.S. director Thacker’s feature-film debut.
