Principal photography is underway on feature film A Masked Saint, directed by Warren P. Sonoda.

The film, produced by Ontario-based P23 Entertainment and U.S.-based Ridgerock Faith with Northern-Ontario based prodco Hideaway Pictures, is inspired by the life of former pro-wrestler-turned-Baptist minister Dr. Chris Whaley.

A Masked Saint follows a professional wrestler and family man, played by Brett Granstaff (Set Up) who finds his calling as a pastor. This prompts him to retire from wrestling and move his family to a small town, where he faces a new set of challenges in his ministry.

The film also stars Canadian actors Lara Jean Chrostecki (Hannibal), Patrick McKenna (The Rick Mercer Report) and Oscar-nominated actress Diahann Carroll.

Ridgerock Faith, headed up Brett Granstaff and Gary Granstaff, is a division of Ridgerock Entertainment Group, and focuses on producing, acquiring and marketing inspirational content for people of faith. Nashville-based Ridgerock Entertainment Group develops projects as coproductions with co-financing partners.

A Masked Saint is shooting in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding area.
