Colin Mochrie, Wendy Crewson and Jennifer Irwin are set to guest star on Global TV’s upcoming comedy series Working the Engels.
The half-hour comedy produced by Halfire-CORE Entertainment will see the Canuck actors join series regulars Andrea Martin, Kacey Rohl, Azura Skye and Benjamin Arthur.
Working the Engels follows a young woman (Rohl) who takes over her father’s storefront law practice and becomes the family’s unlikely patriarch, as she deals with her self-involved mother (Martin) and eccentric relatives as co-workers.
Mochrie will play the firm’s long-suffering accountant, while Crewson will play a rich, entitled woman who is the subject of a lawsuit. Irwin will play an aggressive partner at the high-powered law firm Rohl’s character worked at before taking over the family practice, and who becomes bent on ruining her life.
Working the Engels, now in production in Toronto, is written by Katie Ford and Jane Ford.
The 12-episode series is produced by Halfire-CORE Entertainment, with Katie Ford, Jane Ford, Howard Busgang, Tom Nursall and Noreen Halpern exec producing.
