CTV has got its original dramas like Saving Hope and Motive onto U.S. broadcast schedules.

Now it’s pacted with PPI Releasing to get its weekday talker The Social into U.S. syndication.

The U.S. indie distributor is shopping the series, which debuted on Sept. 2 on CTV, for a U.S. syndication rollout next year.

“We’ve created an engaging series that is resonating with Canadian viewers, and can launch in the U.S. next year with a solid foundation,” Rick Brace, president, specialty channels and CTV production, said Wednesday in a statement.

The series is hosted by Melissa Grelo, Traci Melchor, Cynthia Loyst and Lainey Lui and features the quartet discussing current events before opening the floor to celebrity guests.

PPI Releasing expects to have around 200 episodes of the Canadian chat fest produced by the time a possible U.S. syndication rolls out.

The Social airs weekdays on CTV, CTV Two and E!
