Hlibka picks up rights to If I Were You

Toronto-based production and distribution company Hlibka Entertainment Inc. (HEI) has acquired the theatrical and digital rights to Canada-U.K. copro If I Were You, starring Academy and Tony Award-winner Marcia Gay Harden and Aidan Quinn.

HEI will be releasing the film through its distribution arm Big Picture Cinema in Toronto and other select cities on Nov. 29 and subsequently through Rogers, iTunes  and Shaw Media on Dec. 3.

The film about a woman (Harden) who tries to turn the tables on a young actress (Leonor Watling) who is having an affair with her husband (Joseph Kell), screened at the Palm Spring’s International Film Festival in 2012 prior to its theatrical run in the U.S.

If I Were You is written and directed by Joan Carr-Wiggin and was shot in Toronto in 2011 by Canadian indie producer Paragraph Pictures and the U.K.’s Tall Tree Pictures.
