Justin Garak’s Umbra Telegraph Pictures is backing financially the U.K. sci-fi thriller Our Robot Overlords.

The Jon Wright-directed picture stars Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson.

Our Robot Overlords also has financing from Pinewood Pictures.

The unspecified investment from Garak’s shingle follows Our Robot Overlords being shopped at the Toronto International Film Festival, ahead of a summer 2014 release.

Umbra Telegraph Pictures invests in and produces commercial films, documentaries and TV series.

The Canadian film financier is also participating in the development of The Banker, produced by William Horberg and based on a screenplay by Michael Bronner (Captain Phillips).
