Production equipment rental player William F. White International has launched a full-service camera cranes company, Whites Telescopic Camera Cranes.

The move follows WFW completing its acquisition of Vancouver-based Telescopic Camera Cranes and its fleet of technocranes (pictured), or telescopic cranes used in film and TV production, first unveiled in May.

Whites Telescopic will retain Telescopic Camera Cranes’ management team, including founding partners Andrew Mulkani and Barrie Wells respectively continuing as president and vice president of the company.

White Telescopic will also continue at its current headquarters, near to WFW’s Vancouver facility.

“Andy and Barrie bring a widely respected and long-standing reputation around the world for excellence in their craft,” said Paul Bronfman, chairman and CEO of WFW-parent Comweb Corp., said in a statement.

The specialized cranes put camera operators in places they could otherwise not easily reach for scene shots.

The launch of Whites Telescopic follows Comweb Group making a new $20 million investment in production equipment and a $40 million refinancing agreement with BMO Financial Group as it looks to keep pace with changes in the technology and techniques of moving camera shots.
