Sara Canning, Ian Tracey topline Kyle Rideout’s debut feature

The Canadian indie, produced by Josh Epstein, is starting production in Vancouver this week.

Sara Canning, Ian Tracey and Jodi Balfour have joined the cast for Kyle Rideout’s untitled feature about British photography pioneer Eadweard Muybridge that started shooting in Vancouver on July 1.

The Canadian indie, produced by Josh Epstein, will also star Michael Eklund, Christopher Heyerdahl, Charlie Carrick and Torrance Combs.

The Vampire Diaries‘ Canning will play the wife of Muybridge, and Balfour (Bomb Girls) will perform the role of one of the photographer’s models.

Muybridge as a 19th century photographer is also regarded as an early pioneer of the moving picture due to his use of freeze-framed imagery to make pictures appear as if they were moving.

His story also includes a romantic triangle between his young wife, and her affair with the explorer Harry Larkyns that ended in a contentious homicide.
