Bitten’s Laura Vandervoort has been added as voice talent for the animated web series based on the Canadian superhero Captain Canuck for Smiley Guy Studios.

The five-episode animated online series based on the iconic champion will see Vandervoort voice the character of Blue Fox, an elusive and deadly mercenary.

“I’m really intrigued with the mystery behind this fierce female character. She’ll definitely be giving the Captain a run for his money,” the actress said in a statement.

Captain Canuck, created in 1976 by comic book writer/director Richard Comely, has been reinvented by Captain Canuck INC, run by Fadi Hakim and Alex Sengupta, and their new animation partner, Smiley Guy Studios.

Voicing the Captain is Kris Holden-Reid, while arch-rival Mr. Gold will be voiced by Paul Amos (Lost Girl).

The five–parter will debut online at www.captaincanuck.com on July 1st, 2013.
