Gearshift Films inks deal for Home Sweet Home

Toronto-based Gearshift Films has sold its first feature, Home Sweet  Home, to Screen Media Ventures.

The deal covers all rights in Canada and the U.S., including pay TV, home entertainment and VOD.

Home Sweet Home is a Canada-France co-venture helmed by French director David Morley (Mutants), and is produced by Gearshift and France’s CountessFilms.

The film stars Meghan Heffern (The F Word), Shaun Benson and Adam MacDonald. Home Sweet Home tells the story of a young married couple who comes home after a date night to find they are imprisoned in their own home by a killer inside.

The film was shot in Oakville, Ontario, in June, and post-production wrapped in September.

Gearshift Films is headed up by Jordan Barker and Borga Dorter.
