As part of its strategy to extend its reach into the kids market, Tricon Films & Television has acquired its first preschool series, JiggiJump, from Toronto-based indie producer Markle Productions.
“JiggiJump is Tricon’s first preschool acquisition as we begin to roll out our expansion in children’s content, with more partnerships to announce in the coming weeks. We’re looking forward to working with Markle Productions to bring JiggiJump’s combination of live action and 3D animation to preschool audiences worldwide,” said Tricon SVP distribution and business development Jon Rutherford in a statement.
The live action and 3D animated series, led by Canadian singing duo Judy and David, aims to help preschoolers get physically active through imaginative and musical adventures. Solis Animation is spearheading the show’s animation and background designs.
JiggiJump is currently in production and slated to premiere on Kids’ CBC in 2013.
