Canadian sports channel Sportsnet has partnered with Fox Soccer to produce and air Soccer Central, a nightly one-hour soccer news show on Sportsnet World.
The launch of the Brendan Dunlop-hosted show on Aug. 17, as the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League season gets under way, also comes as Sportsnet produces Fox Soccer News, a separate edition of the one-hour soccer news program to air nightly on Fox Soccer in the U.S. market.
“The launch of Soccer Central bolsters Sportsnet’s already robust portfolio of soccer programming and solidifies our commitment to delivering viewers premium soccer content,” Scott Woodgate, vice president of news and information programming at Sportsnet said in a statement.
“With the increased resources we are devoting to Fox Soccer News, we look forward to the show reaching new heights as America’s nightly soccer destination,” Fox Soccer senior vice president Dermot McQuarrie added in his own statement.
