CCI Entertainment expands movie slate with 12 titles

Toronto-based producer and distributor CCI Entertainment is expanding its movie slate by adding six original movies and six acquisitions to its library.

“Our ongoing commitment to the movie space as well as being producers and providers of quality content allows us to meet the needs of buyers in all genres,” said CCI Entertainment CEO Arnie Zipursky in a statement Monday.

In pre-production with Vancouver’s Really Real Films is Peter Woodward’s Anything But Christmas, directed by Allan Harmon.

And a 90-minute film version of CCI mini-series Iron Road (pictured), starring Sam Neill and Peter O’Toole, will premiere Sept. 1 on CBC.

The company also said that it has four additional films in development this year, including Taking Care of Business, based on a story by Randy Bachman, and The Family Gap, written by Joy Chapman.

The six original productions are all CCI-produced.

Elsewhere, CCI Entertainment in association with Miami-based Dolphin Entertainment acquired worldwide distribution rights to six made-for-TV films from Rome-based Leader Film Company: Visions of Murder, The Captives, Souvenirs, Under Protection, Twins and Tailor-Made Murder.
