April Mullen and Tim Doiron at indie producer Wango Films have come away from the Berlin Film Festival with distribution deals in the UK, Germany and Russia for Dead Before Dawn 3D.
VMI Worldwide sold the Canadian zombie pic directed by Mullen to distributor KSM for Britain and Germany, while Big Movie took the rights for the Christopher Lloyd-starring horror film for Russia.
Wango Films brought Dead Before Dawn 3D, which also stars Devon Bostick, Martha MacIsaac and Ellen Dubin, to the European Film Market in Berlin for its official market premiere.
The adventure comedy, the first Canadian 3D live-action film to be funded by Telefilm Canada, portrays college kids who release a curse that turns people into zombie demons, or zemons.
Wango, whose screenplay was written by Doiron, earlier landed a pre-sale with Canadian pay TV channels Movie Central and The Movie Network.
