Canadian indie producer Smiley Guy Studios has jumped on board What a Croc!, a game show it will co-produce with Skatoony creators James Fox and Richard Brookes of U.K.-based Whole Hog Creations.

The partners are developing 26 half-hours of the kids series that combines live action and animation as it follows three real life kids as they solve crimes with the world-famous detective Croc Monsieur.

“We’ve been working with the guys at Whole Hog for some time now on Skatoony, so this is an obvious and organic next step,” Mike Valiquette, Smiley Guy’s director of development explained in a statement.

Smiley Guy Studios brings its animation expertise and production experience to the project.

Whole Hog last year unveiled a separate deal with marblemedia to develop Chugga Chugga Wow, another live-action/animated hybrid series and website for preschoolers, this time for the CBC.
