ACTRA elects new national executive

ACTRA’s National Council has elected a team of executives to begin a two-year term.

Heather Alin (Toronto), Barry Blake (Ottawa), Cary Lawrence (Montreal), Dan Libman (Alberta), Talia Pura (Manitoba), Alvin Sanders (B.C.) and Theresa Tova (Toronto) comprise the organization’s new leadership.

Sanders was re-elected for a second term as national VP, a post he has held since replacing Tyrone Benskin in May 2011. Tova was re-elected for a second term as national treasurer.

Ferne Downey is ACTRA’s national president.

The executive team will lead negotiations of the Independent Production Agreement (IPA), the union’s largest collective agreement, with the CFTPA and APFTQ in the coming months.
