Inner City Films to shoot films on Hyderabad, India soundstages

Toronto indie producer Alfons Adetuyi is set to shoot select scenes from his next two movies on location at the giant studio and prodco, Ramoji Film City, near Hyderabad, India.

As part of a pact with the Bollywood film producer, Adetuyi’s Inner City Films will shoot parts of the spy caper Mumbai Showdown at the Ramoji studio complex in Hyderabad, as well as in Toronto and New York City.

Set in Mumbai, Toronto and New York City, Mumbai Showdown pits a reluctant ex-spy that drives a Yellow Cab in Manhattan against an international crime lord in a battle over prized Indian gems.

The second picture, Past Life, which also has a working title Chasing Gold, will shoot in Los Angeles and Hyderabad.

The time-shifting treasure hunt story portrays a naïve young therapist who is seduced by a patient, an irreverent playboy who convinces her he knows how to find long lost treasure in India.

No word on casting, which is set to start in summer 2012.

Inner City Films aims to start shooting the first of the two movie scripts in late 2012.

The production pact with co-producer Ramoji Film City was signed by Inner City Films during the November 2011 Canadian Film Mission to India led by the OMDC and Telefilm Canada.
