Blink, A Starry Night, Rhonda’s Party feted at enRoute Film Fest

It was indeed A Starry Night for short filmmaker Timothy Chan, who was awarded the Achievement in Animation award at the Air Canada enRoute Film Festival finalists award ceremony last night.

The filmmaker was one of five who earned nods for their work Thursday night, as Air Canada feted the finalists at a special screening at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto, with an awards celebration afterwards at Neubacher Shor Gallery.

The award for Best Short film was given to Blink (pictured), by Miles Jay and Orlee-Rose Strauss; Jay also earned the Achievement Award for Direction for his work on the film.

And the Achievement in Cinematography was given to Ashley McKenzie and Nelson MacDonald for Rhonda’s Party.

For their achievement in winning Best Short Film, Jay and Orlee-Strauss have won $5000 from Cineplex Entertainment. All five filmmakers also earned trips  from Air Canada to the Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France.

The films are all being screened via Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment system.
