Los Angeles-based PPI Releasing has snagged the worldwide distribution rights to Blackstone, the APTN drama now shooting its second season.
“Blackstone is a highly-charged drama in the mould of the most successful series on television, but its unique voice and vision will captivate American viewers,” PPI principal Josh Raphaelson, who has sold a slew of Canadian dramas into syndication, said of his latest find.
The PPI pickup follows the Ron E. Scott-created drama last week earning a best dramatic actress Gemini Award for Michelle Thrush.
Blackstone is produced by Prairie Dog Film + Television, with Scott as executive producer, writer and director, Jesse Szymanski as producer, Damon Vignale as producer and writer, and Gil Cardinal as writer.
The series is produced in association with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).
