Polley’s Nobody joins TIFF

Sarah Polley and Jared Leto will screen their film Mr. Nobody next month at the Toronto International Film Festival, which has announced the last round of titles in this year’s edition.

The sci-fi by director Jaco Van Dormael makes its North American debut in the Special Presentations program. TIFF also named a handful of other films to its Discovery, Sprockets, Vanguard, Masters and Contemporary World Cinema sidebars.

The 24 new titles in CWC, bringing the total to 48, include Backyard, a suspense thriller from Mexico; the Greek film Dogtooth by filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos; and Help Gone Mad, a modern-day interpretation of Don Quixote from Russia.

The Masters program has added Vincere from Italy’s Marco Bellocchio and, from the Ukraine, Melody for a Street Organ by Kira Muratova.
